His Story

Dr Dirk Belfonte specializes in adult and pediatric urgent care and general pratice. Dr Dirk practiced from 2007 to 2013 at the Doctors hospital as their pediatrician and urgent care doctor and now has his own office in George Town. He graduated in 1993 from the University of the West
 Indies. He did his initial training in emergency medicine and paediatrics. He practised with the Accident and Emergency Department of the George Town Hospital. He then migrated to the UK to complete his postgraduate training in emergency medicine, child health, and general practice. He completed his training from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Liverpool Women’s Hospital, two of the largest specialised centres in Europe.

Dr Dirk Belfonte is accredited in the UK as a specialist general practitioner. He practised there for two and a half years before returning to the Cayman Islands. He is a member of the American Academy of Paediatrics and the Royal College of Physicians. He has completed diploma studies in child health and medical law. While he is well-rounded in his skills, Dr Dirk Belfonte is especially comfortable with paediatric urgent care, adult medical problems, traumas, paediatric dermatology, and elderly care.
